Noble Failures

A few bullet points about developing young leaders.

  • Give potential leaders challenging opportunities early in their careers, ideally in their twenties and thirties.
  • They should be nurtured and have enough responsibility to make an impact and significant mistakes.
  • Noble failures are not punished. Indeed, the wise organization tries to accelerate its mistakes, thereby increasing its learning. Mistakes are tolerated, provided they are in service to the organization, and participants learn from those mistakes.
